Cloves are used in indian cooking in whole or powdered form. It tastes very strong and intense and is a main ingredient of ‘Garam Masala’. In North India cloves are usually used while cooking variety of rice. Usually 2-4 cloves should be sufficient enough to add flavour to your dish. Excess quantity will turn the dish stronger.
